British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-VIIR operating BA2037 London Gatwick – Orlando stopped the climb at 8,000 ft close to Alton and entered a hold to troubleshoot before heading south to dump fuel over the English Channel and returning to London Gatwick for a safe landing. The flight was subsequently operated by sister G-VIIT.

British Airways Boeing 777-236ER G-YMMT, which has been under maintenance at Cardiff-Wales since 14th March, positioned Cardiff-Wales – London Gatwick late this afternoon as BA9172. The aircraft was due to go to London Heathrow but moved to London Gatwick to cover G-VIIT after its technical return to London Gatwick this afternoon.
